Event Description: 
What is SAP? The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Student Assistance Program (SAP), which is administered by the PA Department of Education's Safe Schools Office in partnership with the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs' Division of Prevention and Intervention, and the PA Department of Human Services' Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, is designed to assist school personnel in identifying issues including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, mental health issues which pose a barrier to a student's success. The primary goal of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) is to help students overcome these barriers in order that they may achieve, remain in school, and advance. This online, six 1/2 day sessions, is approved by the Interagency Committee and will provide all trainings with certification for being a fully-trained SAP K-12 team member. Cost is $375 per person. Montgomery County Districts should contact the lead trainer about discount possiblities for training more than 10 staff members at the same time, or starting a new team. Session dates/times are as follows: 1/12/2021 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 1/14/2021 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 1/20/2021 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 1/22/2021 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 1/26/2021 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 1/28/2021 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
